We all love to try new things every so often. Different browsers, different designs in PowerPoint. But have you ever tried a different operating system? Like Ubuntu?
VirtualBox allows you to create a Virtual Machine in which another operating system can be run on. Like Windows 10 or Linux.
For this tutorial you will need:
- A PC or Mac powerful enough to run Guest OS’ in
- VirtualBox installed
- An ISO with an Operating System inside it. Like Ubuntu
Creating your VM
You’ll first need to open VirtualBox. Click ‘New’ at the top left of the window. It will bring up something like this. Fill in the name of your VM and go through the setup changing the appropriate settings.
Now you will see your new machine you just created in the left column of the window. Click ‘Start’.
While it’s starting up, you will be asked to select your image. This will be the file of Ubuntu or Windows you downloaded before this tutorial.
Now it will take you through the setup of your chosen operating system.
