Major Facebook security bug could let hackers logon to over 50 MILLION accounts

Facebook has just disclosed a security flaw which could have allowed hackers to log in to over 50 million Facebook accounts.

The flaw could have let hackers login to your Facebook account by stealing your access tokens. Any users affected by the security flaw have been signed out from Facebook and will be required to log back in, in order to secure their account.

The social networking company was made aware of the security flaw on September 25th.

The news was released by Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg in a facebook post.

The flaw was caused by three bugs. All within the ‘View as’ feature of Facebook which allows users to view their profile page as if they were someone else.

Facebook has notified worldwide police authorities, including Police Scotland.
